"New site empowers the DV Generation"
There is now a serious creative outlet for the powerful
digital video arsenal that is emerging on the Mac
and PC platforms. Zapavision.com is a new web site
for parody ads for products that don't exist. Zapavision
is being launched by the same people who created Trailervision.com
one of the most successful shows on the internet.
"It's simple. Someone with an IMAC and a DV camera
can make short funny ads that people in other parts
of the world will laugh at," said Zapavision, Executive
Producer, Albert Nerenberg. "Everyone knows the format.
Zapavision is like an instant worldwide showcase for
ads as entertainment." The site is revolutionary
because it uses the bulletin board thread system already
popular on the internet. One person or group, posts
a satirical ad, and then another can answer with their
own or "continue the brand." Zapavision features
a satirical take on the new Microsoft and Apple Optical
Mice called Real Mouse TM which allows users to "click
on the real world." People can email ads less
than 1.5 megs in size to zapavision@trailervision.com.
Zapavision.com uses Quicktime and Windows Media Player.
Trailervision, the founder of Zapavision has been
called "the next step in cinematic evolution" (Yahoo!)
and a "cult phenomenon." (CNN.)
